Child care voucher scheme
The normal period of probation for all staff is 6 months. The purpose of probation is to provide an initial period of assessment to be made to determine an employee’s suitability for transfer to an Established appointment or confirmation of a fixed-term appointment for its full duration.
Hours of Work
All staff are contracted to a 36 hour week exclusive of lunch breaks. The Unit core hours, including a one hour lunch break are: Monday – Thursday 8.50am – 5.15pm Friday 8.50am – 4.10pm. In certain circumstances, flexible working hours can be arranged. Requests will be considered in the light of the member of staff’s needs and operational requirements, and are subject to relevant approval.
There are limited parking facilities within the Unit.

All offers of employment made are subject to receipt of satisfactory health clearance, employment references, security clearance and eligibility to work in the UK.
The MRC HGU operates a no smoking policy on its premises.
