Dr Sara Rodriguez Heras
Has been awarded a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship for Career Development on her work on study the mechanisms for the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. She will carry out her work with Professor Javier Caceres. His lab is particularly interested in the role of the trans-acting factors that are involved in the regulation of alternative splicing, such as the SR proteins and hnRNP A/B type of proteins.
This Fellowship is to support the career development of experienced researchers and seeks to enhance their individual competence diversification in terms of skill acquisition at multi or interdisciplinary level. The aim is to support during two years researchers in attaining a leading independent position.

EMBO Personal Fellowship:

Dr Sara Macias Ribela
Has been awarded an EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organisation) Personal Fellowship on her work on post-transcriptional regulation of miRNA expression.
Dr Macias will carry out her work with Professor Javier Caceres. EMBO fellowships are awarded for a period of up two years and support post-doctoral research visits to laboratories throughout Europe."
