Unit achieves 2nd place for the Annual MRC Health and Safety Poster Competition:
November 2010
The Annual MRC Health and Safety Poster Competition started in 2009 with the aim of raising awareness of H&S and encouraging MRC staff and students to take a fresh look at health and safety issues.
The first competition was about risk assessment and Craig submitted two concepts, one of which came third. This year the theme was personal safety – what employees and students expect the MRC to provide for their safety and what they think they can contribute themselves.
Craig again submitted 3 concepts and this time he achieved 2nd place for Concept 2 (eye protection).
A trophy and vouchers are presented to the winning team at an award ceremony held in Head Office. Vouchers are also awarded for 2nd and 3rd place, so well done Craig.

Professor Caceres election recognises his international reputation in the field of RNA biology and his contributions to advancing the understanding of gene expression mechanisms.
A major goal of his lab is to understand how the posttranscriptional control of gene
expression is regulated and how it is affected in human disease.
